On November 18, 2012, We Lost Captain Jean Frottier
Tragedy |ˈtrajidē|noun ( pl. tragedies )1 an event causing great suffering, destruction, and distress, such as a serious accident, crime, or natural catastrophe.
What is not mentioned in its definition, but can safely be presumed, is that tragedy almost never gives warning and feels especially grim around the holidays; a time when family and friends often gather to celebrate and enjoy each others company.
I did not know him personally, but Jean Frottier, who lost his life on November 18, 2012, meant a great deal to people very close to me and so I felt it important to share his story.
